About Mell Packard
Education
I am a soon-to-be graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre. I have trained in Screenwriting, Directing, Visual Media Production, as well as extensive study in the art and history of film.
Work Experience
I have worked on a variety of projects, both through UAB and through independent projects. My credits include above-the-line work, such as writing and directing, and below-the-line work, including editing and camera operation.
Skills
I have experience in many aspects of film and media production. I am an acclaimed writer and director. I am proficient in the use of film equipment, including camera, audio and lighting. I have expertise in the Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft 365, and social media. I also have experience in camera drone operation and recording, and am certified by The Recreational UAS Safety Test (TRUST) under FAA regulations.
Personal
I grew up outside Washington, D.C., and spent more than a decade in Orlando, FL. I currently live in Birmingham, AL. Beyond media production, I've worked extensively in customer service, as well as in the veterinary industry. In my spare time I enjoy reading, music, crafts, spending time with friends, and modifying my souped-up 2014 Toyota Prius C. I am the proud parent of a tailless cat named Charlotte, as well as over thirty derelict houseplants.
